Yes, Link485 LoRaWAN is an end device that connects TO a LoRaWAN gateway (not a gateway itself). You'll need LoRaWAN gateway infrastructure or use public networks like The Things Network. One LoRaWAN gateway can serve 1000+ Link485 LoRaWAN devices.

Is it compatible with The Things Network (TTN)?

Yes! Link485 LoRaWAN is fully compatible with The Things Network (TTN). It supports both TTN v2 and v3. You can use free public TTN coverage or deploy private TTN gateways. Device profile and payload decoders provided for easy integration.

Does it work with ChirpStack?

Yes! Link485 LoRaWAN works perfectly with ChirpStack v3 and v4. It supports OTAA and ABP activation. Device templates and codec functions are provided. Many customers use ChirpStack for private LoRaWAN networks with full control.

What is OTAA and ABP activation?

OTAA (Over-The-Air Activation) is the secure method where device negotiates keys with network - recommended for production. ABP (Activation By Personalization) uses pre-configured keys - useful for testing or fixed installations. Link485 LoRaWAN supports both.

What is Class A and Class C operation?

Class A: Device wakes up to send data, then listens briefly for downlinks - ultra-low power (3-10 year battery life). Class C: Device listens continuously for downlinks - allows instant configuration changes but uses more power (mains powered). Link485 LoRaWAN supports both.

How many devices can one LoRaWAN gateway serve?
