What's in the Box

Step 1: Hardware Setup

Connect the Node

  1. Connect your Modbus device (energy meter, sensor, etc.) to the Node's RS485 terminals
  2. Power the Node using the provided USB cable
  3. The Node LED will blink blue indicating it's powered on

Connect the Gateway

  1. Connect the Gateway to your network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi
  2. Power the Gateway using the provided USB cable
  3. Wait for the Gateway LED to turn solid green (network connected)

Step 2: Automatic Pairing

LINK485 Zero features automatic discovery - no configuration needed!

  1. The Gateway automatically discovers the Node via LoRa
  2. Both devices will show solid blue LEDs when paired
  3. Data transmission begins immediately

Step 3: Access the Dashboard

  1. Open a web browser and navigate to the Gateway's IP address
  2. You'll see the LINK485 dashboard with real-time data
  3. Data from your Modbus device is automatically displayed

Step 4: Cloud Integration (Optional)

Connect to LINK485 Cloud or third-party platforms:

  • MQTT: Built-in MQTT client for any broker
  • HTTP: REST API endpoints available
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud IoT
  • SCADA Systems: OPC UA server included

Troubleshooting

Node and Gateway won't pair?

Ensure both devices are powered on and within 100m of each other. Restart both devices.

No data appearing?

Check Modbus device connections and ensure the device is powered and responding.

Can't access dashboard?

Verify Gateway is connected to your network. Check router's DHCP table for Gateway IP address.
